The Working Group on Development and Peace (FriEnt) is an
association of eight German governmental and non-governmental organisations working in the field of development cooperation
and peace building. The group was founded on 1 September 2001
with the following objectives:
- promoting the role of peace building in the members'
strategies and activities,
- capacity building,
- promoting joint learning against a backdrop of different
perspectives and approaches and
- supporting its members in networking and co-operation
In order to meet these goals FriEnt acts as:
- an information and knowledge gateway,
- a platform for networking and
- a resource for advisory services and capacity building.
