Workshop 1: Towards Deeper-rooted Justice: Addressing Land Issues in

The workshop aims at exchanging experiences on integrating land issues into
transitional justice processes as well as exploring preconditions and entry
points to do so. Discussions will focus on the interconnectedness and mutual

Workshop 3 Education and Remembrance: Laying the Ground for new

The workshop seeks to explore the intersection between transitional justice
interventions and formal as well as informal education, which constitute more
organic and ongoing ways of dealing with a past. It aims at discussing the role
of education as a sector that directly shapes and transports ideas, values and
identities that may contribute to violent conflict but also may facilitate its
transformation and peaceful resolution.

Workshop 4: Healing and Health Needs of Survivors: Challenges for Health
Systems and Communities
The workshop aims at discussing possibilities for societies to deal with the
negative psychosocial and health impact on communities, who are survivors of
massive violence. It will focus on psychosocial and health needs and rights as
well as on health systems’ reactions to those needs and rights of societies in
(post) conflict situations, including so far discriminated individuals and
groups.

Workshop 5: The Economic Dimension of Justice: Bridging Transition and
Sustainable, Inclusive Development
The workshop intends to explore the intersection of transitional justice
interventions, sustainable economic development and the underlying questions of
economic human rights. It aims at discussing the importance of economic
redistribution and rehabilitation in post-conflict situations, possibilities of
linkage between redistribution needs, reparation efforts and economic
development interventions. Current best practices, blind spots and potential
realistic entry points will be explored.
