Thematic evaluation of European Commission support to conflict prevention and peace building

Prior to launching the full evaluation of the European Commission's support to Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding the Joint Evaluation Unit of the EC required that a concept study was undertaken to clarify the approach and questions to be tackled. A part of the study was to tackle the key question of what is meant by an "integrated approach" to CPPB which is often seen as key to the EC (and EU as well as other agencies) vision for engagement. The study noted that there were four different but linked/inter-related elements of an integrated approach most commonly referred to by experts and policy makers. But depending on where they were coming from there was different emphasis.
