Tina Blohm

Tina Blohm studied International Relations with a focus on human rights and conflict research in Dresden, Cambridge (Massachusetts) and London. For her Master's thesis, she researched demobilisation and reintegration in Liberia and subsequently worked as a research assistant at the Stiftung für Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP). At the German Institute for Development Cooperation (DIE, now IDOS), she researched the development policy contributions to the African peace and security architecture as part of a country working group. From 2008 to 2011 and from 2015 to 2017, she worked in Kabul, Afghanistan. Here she initially worked for the FES as an office manager. She then worked as a political advisor for the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) and at the NATO Resolute Support mission. She also worked as an integrated expert at the High Peace Council and the Afghan Ministry of Interior. In her two years at the United Nations, she focused on conflict mediation, local peace initiatives and regional conflict dynamics.

Between 2012 and 2014, she lived in London, where she worked at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as an Executive Manager and conducted research on new elites in the Afghan state apparatus. From 2017 to 2021, she managed the FES office in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Since September 2021, she has been an officer in the Global and European Policy Unit of the International Cooperation Department at FES. Here she has been in charge of the field of trade and development finance for a year before moving to FriEnt as a representative of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.
